Answer:
There is no electronic protection as it is not needed due to the physical protection supplied by the type of switch used in the unit. It’s a three way switch with the centre position being OFF. It is therefore not physically possible for the same speaker to be connected to more than one amplifier. There is however a load resistor connected to each amplifier in the event that a valve amp is used as these can be damaged if there is no load present at the output when they are switched on.
